Achieving Dreams

“Keep your dreams, you never know when you might need them.”

AKA The Bucket List. Yes, I decided to be “original” and make my own bucket list. To be honest I just wanted to write down the things I want to accomplish (hopefully) before I die. It’s so easy for life to just pass you by without realizing it and not accomplishing the things you desire. I don’t want that to happen with me, especially with a new baby on the way. You can say my unborn son is the inspiration for me making this list now. I want him to be confident and know that he can accomplish the things he wants to do, no matter where he is in his life. It’s never too late and all things are possible. And I believe in order to put that knowledge in him, I will have to show him by doing some of the things I’ve always wanted to do in life. My desire is to do this consistently enough for him to realize that by having faith, utilizing one’s God-given skills, and allowing others to help, his goals will always be within reach.

“Cut not the wings of your dreams, for they are the heartbeat and the freedom of your soul.”

I had a semi-bucket list when I was a kid but I didn’t know it was a bucket list at the time. I managed to cross off a couple of things before I reached high school without realizing it. I had always wanted to go to Paris and London and thanks to my wonderful sister, who happened to be in the military at the time, I was able to see those places. I made my list, I had the faith, and I allowed the help. And that is something I want to do again, crossing off the things on my “Life To-Do List”.

It is a long list, probably cliche in some areas and seemingly impossible in others, but it’s my heart’s desire. These are things I hope to accomplish in my lifetime, with or without friends and family.

“A life without dreams
is like a garden without flowers.”
